Most newbies try to get started with “trendy anime.” However, 50 to 60 titles are released every quarter. This means that even trendy anime can be a matter of personal taste. Then, how can you choose an anime that suits your taste? Here is a checklist to help your decision.

Actually, we are familiar with this list when choosing books or movies. If you look at the list and think, “Huh. There’s nothing special here,” you’ve hit the nail on the head!

If you really need another tip, I recommend watching the first episode of each anime. Many platforms offer the first episode for free. If you like it, you’ll just end up watching the rest!

Another thing I want to tell is that you don’t necessarily have to focus only on famous anime. A massive volume of anime is released every season, and the ones that truly grab attention are limited. However, there is something important to note. Most anime already have original manga or novels as source material. The fact is, works that failed to attract public interest never became anime in the first place.
